Kingdom of the Netherlands to provide €4 million to increase resilience of Moldova's state institutions

Chisinau, April 11 /MOLDPRES/- The Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of the Netherlands will strengthen their cooperation in the defence sector. Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii made the statement at a briefing with Defence Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands E.S. Kajsa Ollongren.

Nosatii said that his counterpart's visit to Chisinau is an eloquent proof that the Kingdom of the Netherlands is one of the partners for whom the security and well-being of the Republic of Moldova matters. "We are grateful to you for standing by us at this difficult time for all of us, but also for the openness with which you have responded to our proposals to strengthen our cooperation," Nosatii said.

He thanked H.E. Kajsa Ollongren for significant contribution to supporting and promoting Moldova's European vector in the international arena, advice in the cyber security, involvement and assistance of Dutch experts in the conduct of joint military exercises.

Ollongren noted that the signing of a bilateral cooperation document is an important step. "We will continue to develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation, in particular through the European Union. In this regard, we welcome the recent approval of the 4th European Union assistance package under the European Peace Facility for the Republic of Moldova. The Kingdom of the Netherlands supports this decision and will continue to provide support in this regard in the future," said Ollongren.

"We know that the Republic of Moldova is currently facing hybrid threats from the Russian Federation. That is why we have discussed the deployment of an EU Hybrid Threat Rapid Response Team. I also mentioned that we will intensify cooperation with the European Union Partnership Mission to Moldova (EUPM) and will provide financial support of €4 million to enhance the resilience of Moldova's state institutions," the official added.

H.E. Kajsa Ollongren is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova.
