USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" signed cooperation agreement with Medical Tourism Association of Moldova

Chisinau, Apr 16 /MOLDPRES/- The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) "Nicolae Testemitanu" has signed a cooperation agreement with the Medical Tourism Association of Moldova (ATMM) to promote the university internationally. USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" rector Emil Ceban and association's head Natalia Ciobanu signed the document.

Through this agreement, ATMM has committed to promote USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" globally through international conferences and events, where it will present the university's study programs, infrastructure and resources, identify and establish partnerships with other prestigious universities around the world, promote academic and research mobility, use online platforms and social networks to attract international students and medical professionals.

Ceban pointed out the importance of the agreement in order to expand the geographical area of recruitment of foreign students, as well as for the implementation of projects and hubs in the field of medicine, addressing the concept of medicine through technological innovation, as well as for the further training of doctors and pharmacists internationally.

"The agreement is a promising one with direct benefits for both parties. We will create hubs of excellence in medicine, where students and medical professionals will be able to collaborate and develop innovative projects. We will develop mentoring and coaching programmes for medical professionals to support professional development and skills upgrading in various fields. We will organise courses, workshops and international conferences to improve the skills of doctors of Moldova and other countries in various medical specialties," he said.

"In addition to our commitment to promote USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" internationally, we also aim to attract investments and sponsors who would be willing to build a university hospital. The focus should be on research and innovation", Ciobanu said.

The first action under this memorandum of cooperation will take place on 18 April at the Global Medical Tourism Forum in Northern Cyprus. ATMM will represent our country, will promote medical tourism in Moldova, including USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu".

The agreement was signed for a term of up to 5 years.
