Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/ - The European Commission today informed that it had disbursed a loan worth 40 million euros as financial support for Moldova. They money is part of a macro-financial assistance, worth 150 million euros in all, provided to the country. The European Commission made statements to this effect on its official page.
The loan worth 40 million euros supplements the payment of the second installment of 50 million euros, of which 10 million, as grant, was already paid in early last April.
The disbursement of the second installment was possible, after ‘’the Commission reached the conclusion that Moldova fulfilled, in general, the conditions of policy, agreed upon with EU for the release of the payment.’’ ‘’Moldova consolidated, for instance, the governance of the public sector, made progress as regards the governance of the financial sector and strengthened the rule of law state,’’ reads a press release by the European Commission.
The package of macro-financial assistance worth 150 million euros, announced by EU, is provided in three installments. The first installment, worth 50 million euros, was disbursed in August 2022.
