Moldovan National Energy Regulatory Agency says 16 July decision could not influence increase in retail prices for fuel
Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today unveiled a string of specifications as to the latest increases in the retail prices for fuels, made by some companies. According to ANRE, the decision approved on 16 July does not refer to the margins for the retail sale of fuels and therefore, could not influence the increase in the pump prices at the fuel supply stations.
Following an analysis on the international market of oil products, decision-makers find out that, on 1-16 July, the average of the Platts quotations grew by 567.85 lei/ton for petrol, 209.6 lei/ton for diesel and 991.89 lei/ton for liquid gas. This directly influences the final price established by operators. ‘’Or in accordance with the Methodology of calculation and application of prices for oil products, the selling price for each batch of fuels is set by each economic agent at a level which cannot exceed its maximal price, which is determined proceeding from the average value of the average Platts quotations and the official exchange rate of the national currency for 14 days before the day when the import was made. As each batch of oil products is fully sold, the price for the new batches is established proceeding from the maximal price for their entrance, in the chronological order,’’ ANRE said.
For the establishment of the maximal prices by each operator, ANRE daily publishes on its official webpage the average of the Platts quotations and the average of the exchange rate of the national currency for 14 previous days. For a better understanding of the dynamic of the selling prices for oil products, ANRE recommends all interested sides to access the Agency’s webpage www.anre.md, in order to familiarize with the indicators staying at the basis of the prices’ formation.
At the same time, to exclude eventual situations of infringement of the provisions of the Methodology of calculation and application of the prices for oil products, the Agency asked the operators which allowed increases in prices to urgently present relevant information, in order to be subjected to verifications.
At the same time, the Agency informs about the fact that the Decision by ANRE’s Administrative Board from 16 July on the amendment of the Decision from 14 July had been approved urgently, as a result of the regional crisis on the oil products market and the need to supply with fuel the agricultural sector, transport companies and the participants in the retail sale market which do not have licences for the import of the concerned products.
