Moldovan parliament extends term of implementation of Joint Operational Programme Romania - Moldova 2014-2020

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - The term of implementation of the Joint Operational Programme Romania – Moldova 2014-2020 has been extended by one more year till 31 December 2025.  The parliament today ratified an amendment to the agreement on financing between Moldova’s government, the European Union and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration of Romania.      

Under the document, this amendment is needed because of the consequences triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aforementioned financing agreement was signed in 2016 and sees the providing of a grant worth 89.1 million euros for the implementation of more actions in Moldova. The project’s beneficiaries can be the public or central authorities, international organizations or non-governmental organizations.  

Sixty five lawmakers backed the document in the final reading.
