
Moldova's National Motor Transport Agency warns providers of taxi services to properly endow vehicles
Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Motor Transport Agency (ANTA) has warned the road transport operators about the provisions of the legislation, under which only the touring cars which cumulatively meet certain conditions are allowed to make the carriage of people in taxi regime.
According to ANTA, only the vehicles endowed with legalized functioning taxing apparatus, metrologically checked and registered at the State Fiscal Service (SFS), will be able to provide taxi services. The cars should also be equipped with functional taxi lamp, according to the provisions of the regulation of the road transports of passengers and luggage; should have the signs, inscriptions, colour elements of the coachwork and the endowments specified in the aforementioned regulation; they must have the inscription, If the cash vouched on paper and/or in electronic format is not issued and handed, the consumer has right not to pay for the travel.
At the same time, ANTA warn the taxi regime road transport operators about the need to observe the provisions of the law on the social inclusion of people with disabilities, under which all taxi operators are obliged to provide at least one vehicle adapted to the carriage of disabled people, who use wheelchairs.
Also, under a cabinet decision from March 2014, registration plates with background of yellow colour were applied for the vehicles meant for the public transport of passengers.
