This year's autumn editions of the most significant agricultural exhibitions in Moldova - Moldagrotech (46th edition) and Farmer (28th edition) - today were launched in a spectacular and unique way, by a caravan of agricultural machinery traversed the capital.
The impressive column of tractors, combines and modern equipment started set out in Stauceni and reached the Moldexpo International Exhibition Center, providing the residents of Chisinau a true parade of agricultural innovation. The event, organized in partnership with the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry and the National Federation of Farmers of Moldova, marked the official start of the week dedicated to the performance and modernization of the agricultural sector.
The caravan - a first for Moldova - was initiated by a group of participants and exhibiting partners, including Agroprofi Ltd company, Aprocomteh Ltd company, the Agricultural Machinery Institute Mecagro, Servmixt Agro Ltd company, Agropiese TGR Group Ltd company, Irriserv Ltd company and Ozontech Impex Ltd company.
‘’These exhibitions are about and for farmers. As a country candidate to the European Union, we must understand that the agriculture of the future relies on performance, competitiveness, and quality,’’ said Andrian Digolean, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, at the launch conference.
The central section of the exhibition will include an impressive range of tractors, combines, cultivators, plows, harrows, seeders and premium equipment presented by renowned international manufacturers. At the same time, visitors will have access to consultancy services, insurance, banking solutions, loans, and transport, aimed at supporting farmers in modernizing their activities.
Also, the exhibition will host a fair for seeds, seedlings and planting material, and the Agricultural and Rural Counseling Center will organize a roundtable dedicated to the production of high-value biological horticultural material.
The event agenda also includes the traditional professional competitions: Innovation of the Year 2025, where producers and distributors of agricultural machinery and inputs will compete to showcase their innovations; Leading Farmer, a contest relaunched this year to recognize the remarkable achievements of Moldovan farmers.
Zinaida Popa, the General Director of CIE Moldexpo, highlighted the innovative character of the event.
‘’The today's agriculture is no longer just about physical labor, but about intelligence, technology and adaptation. The agricultural machinery caravan symbolizes exactly this step forward — towards modern and sustainable agriculture. We invite everyone from October 16 to 19 to discover excellence in agriculture with us,’’ Popa said.
This year's editions of the Moldagrotech and Farmer exhibitions will bring together dozens of companies of Moldova and from abroad, showcasing the latest innovations in agricultural mechanization and digitization.
A highlight will be a workshop dedicated to women producers in agriculture, organized in collaboration with UN Women, aimed at promoting their involvement in rural entrepreneurship.
‘’It is a platform for discussion and cooperation among all actors in the agri-food sector. Here, development directions and partnerships that will make a difference for farmers across the country are outlined,’’ emphasized Sergiu Vesca, Executive Director of the National Federation of Farmers of Moldova.
On behalf of the private sector, Igor Ciudnii, a representative of Agroprofi, conveyed a direct message to farmers, highlighting that this event was about them.
‘’Everything we do — from demonstrations to offers and solutions — is aimed at supporting you and making agriculture more efficient and profitable,’’ noted the entrepreneur.
The Moldagrotech and Farmer exhibitions will be stage on October 16–19, 2025, at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Center, bringing together over 200 exhibitors, experts, entrepreneurs, and farmers. By launching the agricultural machinery caravan, the event becomes not just an exhibition platform, but also a symbol of the transformation of the Moldovan agriculture — agriculture increasingly connected to innovation, efficiency and European development. The presence of international companies confirms the growing interest in the agricultural market of Moldova and its openness to high-performance technologies and sustainable practices. The opening will take place October 16, at 11:00 at Pavilion No. 2 of C.I.E. Moldexpo, Ghioceilor Str., No. 1, Chisinau. Entrance is free for all people interested.
