Eugeniu Osmochescu appointed acting Prime Minister of Moldova

The Government of the Republic of Moldova

Starting from July 8, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugeniu Osmochescu will serve as Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.

The appointment decree was signed today by President Maia Sandu. Under Article 101 paragraphs (2) and (3) and Article 103 paragraph (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, as well as Article 23 of the Law on the Government, the head of state appoints another member of the Government as Acting Prime Minister until a new Government is formed.

Alexandru Munteanu announced his resignation on July 3.
