The exhibition presents the most important pages of the history of the Declaration of Moldova’s Independence 30 years ago. Original acts were displayed, some of which have only one copy, which are related to the period of creation and self-assertion of Moldova as independent state.
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said that the exhibition represented an entire generation of those who had laid the foundations of Moldova and our mission was to turn to good account this treasure, keep the memory of our predecessors. ‘’We are lucky to have possibility to discuss with the protagonists of the Independence, who had courage to vote the Declaration – a courage act, backed by hundreds of thousands of Moldova’s citizens. These holidays are moments with special emotional charge. And we must convey this tradition to the next generations, explain the value of the Independence of a country. Congratulations, Moldova!’’
Among the documents displayed, there are: the Declaration from 26 April 2010 – a document re-established following the 7 April 2009 events, includes the list of the people’s lawmakers of Moldova from 1990-94, who voted the Declaration of Independence on 27 August 1991; pictures with the signatories of the Declaration of Independence, etc.
The exhibition is part of a string of events held by the parliament, in the context of the 30th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence.
