
Heads of diplomacies from Association Trio member states discuss with European Parliament members
Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan diplomacy head, Aureliu Ciocoi, along with Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister of Georgia David Zalkaliani, within the visit to Brussels, today had a meeting with the European Parliament members in charge of the cooperation with the three associated countries, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
It is about the head of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Policy (AFET), the EURONEST co-head, the European Parliament’s rapporteurs on the implementation of the three Association Agreements and on the Eastern Partnership, the co-heads of the parliamentary committees on association with EU.
The discussion was focused on the situation within the Eastern Partnership, present problems and opportunities in the three countries. The European Parliament members expressed firm support for the three states’ efforts to promote reforms and get closer to EU. Special attention was paid to the unsettled conflicts and regional security.
As for Moldova, the principal messages regarded the importance of organizing free and fair parliamentary elections, in accordance with the international standards. Minister Aureliu Ciocoi expressed thanks to MEPs for the constant support in the European aspirations of the associated countries.
