Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with Romanian minister of research, innovation and digitalization
Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Romanian Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization, Sebastian Burduja, on a visit to Chisinau, have discussed the speeding up of the process of digital transformation and development of a modern information society.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the speaker welcomed the setting up of a joint commission in charge of the implementation of a memorandum of understanding in the digital transformation sector between Moldova and Romania, as well as the decision on the working out of a common agenda and the creation of a common digital space Romania – Moldova, approved at the first meeting of the commission on 16 June.
According to the parliament speaker, the voting of the laws due to get the citizens closer to the public services and simplify the process of getting identity acts and papers is one of the basic priorities of this legislative period.
„We want new, modern digital solutions, which are to ease the life of our citizens and of the private sector,’’ Igor Grosu said.
The parliament speaker noted that a draft on the digitalization of the parliament’s activity was presently under implementation, including for the use of an e-voting system, launched in last autumn for the first time ever.
