
Moldovan PM has discussion with Russian ambassador
Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today met Ambassador of Russia to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov. The officials tackled a string of priority subjects, which will allow extending the bilateral relations in all sectors of common interest, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM thanked for the financial assistance provided by the government of Russia in diverse sectors, including for the support recently provided to farmers from Moldova hit by the natural calamities.
The officials discussed the prolongation of more commercial and economic contracts signed between the two countries, including the one on the supply of natural gas for the next year.
The sides also discussed the subject on the expiration of the preferential regime for Moldovan goods sold on the Russian market as of 1 January 2020. At the same time, the officials exchanged information on the evolution of the epidemiological situation in Moldova and Russia.
For his part, Oleg Vasnetsov assured that Russia was interested in the strengthening of the commercial and economic relations with Moldova.
The sides also discussed the importance and impact of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, due in online format on 4 December.
Ion Chicu said that Russia continued to remain an important partner of Moldova, providing support and assistance in more sectors.
