Moldovan PM has discussions with French senators
Prime Minister Dorin Recean met at the government more senators, members of the France-Moldova Friendship Parliamentary Group from the Senate of France.
The officials discussed strengthening the partnership between the two countries, the support provided by France for Moldova's European journey, as well as the efforts undertaken by the Moldovan authorities to combat hybrid threats, aimed at disrupting democratic processes from Moldova.
According to the PM, foreign interference and hybrid attacks from Russia are boosting on election periods, and in the context of electoral exercise due in next autumn, pressures on behalf of the Kremlin will enhance substantially.
“Nevertheless, Moldova will continue to defend its democracy and the government will pursue the path of reforms and the European integration agenda. Our citizens firmly support this path, included in the Constitution, and thanks to our partners, such as France, we manage to get practical tools, in order to grow and advance,” Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The PM appreciated the continuous technical assistance on behalf of the French Development Agency, provided for railway infrastructure, reforestation, energy efficiency and private sector financing. At the same time, the prime minister emphasized the partnership relations in such fields as IT, pharmaceuticals and renewable energy. Specifically, the sides referred to cooperation in the economic field, highlighting the importance of organizing a business conference involving entrepreneurs from both states, in order to explore new cooperation opportunities.
The French senators are on a visit in Moldova on June 10-12.
