Chisinau, 18 December /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu sent a message today on marking 10 years of e-government in Moldova, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The message reads:
"Dear members of the Council,
I am pleased to congratulate you on marking 10 years of e-government in the Republic of Moldova. I would like to mention that it is your merit, of all those who have put their shoulder and enthusiastically involved in the project of digital transformation of government and made this field prosper and bring us visible results: digital infrastructure, public services electronic quality, transparent and participatory governance.
The application of technology has significantly simplified the provision of public services in the interest of beneficiaries, optimized the work of public service providers. At the same time, it has determined us all to improve our digital skills and to adapt more and more to current technological trends, to use them massively in the governance, where they bring benefits to people.
The government systematically promotes the digitization of public services and pays increased attention to the creation of information infrastructure to simplify access, eliminate corruption and bureaucracy, encourage participatory democracy and increase the transparency of the decision-making process. Also, our concern for the implementation of e-government is closely related to the benefits it brings, namely: reducing administration costs, boosting economic growth, increasing labor productivity, reducing tax evasion, etc.
The e-Government Agency is the governmental entity that coordinates all efforts to implement the Digital Strategy / Agenda of the Republic of Moldova, with a clear vision, bold objectives and a well-established team, with which Moldova has managed to achieve success in implementing digital initiatives, including the size of the adjustment of the regulatory framework to ensure flexibility in the application of technologies in public administration.
Currently, the Republic of Moldova is registering a dynamic growth in Information Technologies and software development. We have advanced information networks, well-trained and recognized specialists in our country and abroad. We have IT parks and create advantageous conditions for business and investment development and this is due to joint efforts and good collaboration between government institutions, eGovernment Agency, experts, development partners, non-governmental organizations, business, citizens' associations and other public and private institutions promoting technology and innovation.I firmly believe that e-Transformation remains on the agenda of our priorities as a strategic goal of national importance, meant to continuously improve public administration to the highest standards and in accordance with the needs and expectations of citizens.
On behalf of the government and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the institution's anniversary, best wishes to the management of the e-Government Agency and to the entire team of professionals. I wish you good health, prosperity, new digital projects for the country, remarkable personal and professional successes.
