CEC linked in single procedure registration of electoral bloc for 20 October elections
Chisinau, Aug 4 /MOLDPRES/- Central Electoral Commission (CEC) examined at the 3 August meeting the application on the registration of the Electoral Bloc VICTORIE - ПОБЕДА for participation in the October 20, 2024 republican constitutional referendum.
According to the founding agreement, the bloc is formed by RENAȘTERE political party, the Alternative and Salvation Force of Moldova political party, ŞANSĂ political party and VICTORIE political party. A similar application from the same applicants was submitted on August 2 for the registration of an electoral bloc, only for the presidential elections. Accordingly, the Commission has merged the applications into a single administrative procedure.
"Having been invited to the meeting, representatives did not show up. Upon examination, the Commission found that the submitted materials contained certain technical errors and that the applicants had to respond to clarifying questions raised at the meeting and submit additional documents by August 6, 2024. In these circumstances, in order to clarify all the issues related to the procedure, the CEC members decided to examine the application for registration of the Electoral Bloc on August 7, this year," the Central Electoral Commission said.
According to legal norms, the electoral bloc is formed on the basis of an agreement between two or more political parties registered with the Public Services Agency by the date of entry into force of the act setting the date of the elections or referendum.
Electoral blocs for all types of elections are registered by the CEC. Earlier, it was established that the documents for the registration of electoral blocs for the October constitutional republican referendum will be submitted by political parties to the Commission's headquarters from July 22 to September 14, 2024.
