
Electoral body registered several international observers for elections in Gagauzia
Chisinau, 5 August /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission has accredited five international observers to monitor the elections in the People's Assembly of Gagauzia on 19 September.
At today's meeting, CEC members approved the accreditation of two observers from the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS member states, two observers from the French Embassy and an observer from the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to monitor the elections in Gagauzia on 19 September.
So far, the Comrat Electoral Commission has registered 82 candidates for the position of local deputy for the Gagauz autonomy election.
According to the data presented by the local electoral authority, within the 35 constituencies, there were discrepancies in the electoral process. Thus, in some constituencies 5 candidates have already been registered, in others only one, and in the electoral constituency No1 no candidate for the position of local deputy has been registered yet.
