
Moldovan MPs to convene at extraordinary session
Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament on 20 and 21 January will be summoned for an extraordinary session, in order to establish state of emergency in the natural gas sector. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu made statements to this effect at a news briefing today.
According to the speaker, on 20 January starting from 9:00, the lawmakers will discuss a single subject: the government’s demand to establish state of emergency in the natural gas sector.
On 21 January, the parliament’s agenda will include 15 subjects. The MPs are to discuss the draft on amendment of the law on the modification of the conditions for establishing and providing the assistance for the cold period of the year and the law on the compensation of the price difference for the consumption of natural gas/thermal energy on the cold period of the year; the draft law for the amendment of the law on the establishment of measures for the period of emergency state in the public health sector.
The draft agenda of the extraordinary session also includes the draft code of the railway transport, the draft laws for the ratification of the agreement on amendment and reformulation of the contract on financing between Moldova and the European Investment Bank on the railway infrastructure and the park of rolling stock of Moldova and on the attraction by the government of state external loans on behalf of the International Monetary Fund.
The MPs are also to consider the draft law on the ratification of the agreement between the governments of Moldova and Romania on the mutual recognition of diplomas, certificates and scientific titles.
The draft agenda also comprises the draft for the amendment of the Law on the Prosecutor’s Office; draft on amendment of the Labour Code and the law on the promotion of labour force and the unemployment insurance; draft law on measures related to the selection of candidates for the offices of members in the self-administration bodies of the judges and prosecutors; draft on amendment of the law on electric energy.
