Chisinau, July 12. /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Dorin Recean said at today's cabinet meeting that in the context of the incident at Chisinau International Airport, "difficult but necessary decisions" will be taken.
"We have carefully reviewed the reports on this incident. I will appreciate once again that the risk management system worked. It means that the system is developed. These risks, in relation to this criminal, were identified, even if in airports with higher security challenges it was not identified. We did it. However, we have two deceased persons and this must concern us, because it is a great, tragic loss both for the families and colleagues, but also for all of us as a country. Obviously, the actions taken immediately after the incident strengthened the security at the Airport, but on Friday, we will have a meeting with all the institutions and there we will have to make some decisions, even if difficult, absolutely necessary", said Recean.
At today's meeting, the government decided to grant aid of one million lei (50 thousand euros) to the families of the two people who died as a result of the incident at the Airport.
A border policeman and an airport security employee died on June 30 at the Chisinau International Airport, after being shot by a foreign citizen, who was not allowed to enter the country. The aggressor was injured during the arrest, and a few days later he died in the hospital.
