Moldovan Socialists' candidate for Balti mayor's office informs about withdrawal from electoral race
Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - The candidate of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) for the office of Balti city mayor, Alexandru Nesterovschi, today informed that he would not participate in the runoff election of the new local polls, scheduled for 19 December.
„I have consulted with by party fellows and all of us are of the same opinion: these elections are discredited and have no moral, political and legal legitimacy,’’ the PSRM candidate noted on social networks.
At the same time, Nesterovschi urged the candidate for the Balti city mayor, Nicolae Grigorisin, to withdraw from the electoral race too.
The announcement made by Alexandru Nesterovschi, who ranked fourth according to the number of votes picked up in the first round of the ballot, comes after the candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Boris Marcoci, announced his withdrawal from the electoral race.
Following the withdrawal of Boris Marcoci, independent candidate Nicolae Grigorisin and the PSRM candidate, Alexandru Nesterovschi, were to compete in the runoff election.
