Victorie-Pobeda bloc stays outside electoral race: Supreme Court of Justice declares inadmissible appeal submitted against central electoral body
Chisinau, 29 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) today declared as inadmissible the appeal submitted by the parties affiliated with the fugitive Ilan Shor against the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), which refused to register the electoral bloc Victorie-Победа (Victory) for the elections due on 20 October.
Thus, the candidate put forward by the four parties from the bloc, Vasile Bolea, will not be on the ballot papers.
The Central Electoral Commission on 7 August refused the application on the registration of the Victorie-Pobeda Electoral Bloc at the next autumn ballot. The decision was backed by six member of the Commission. At that time, the CEC members emphasize that, under the legislation, an electoral bloc with a name of an already registered formation cannot be registered. The Commission members informed that they would ask the National Integrity Authority to verify the wealth of some members of the bloc, which had not declared their properties.
Also, the CEC members said that the representatives of the Victorie-Pobeda bloc had not submitted information on the financing of the electoral campaign and who is the leader of the formation.
The Victorie-Pobeda bloc was to be made up of the four parties: Chance, Revival, Force of Alternative and Rescue of Moldova, Victorie.
