Drone fragments detected on roof of apartment building from Chisinau; General Police Inspectorate says fragments do not contain explosive substances
The objects found last night on the roof of an apartment building in the center of the Moldovan capital turned out to be parts of a drone. Following the investigation, experts did not detect any explosive substances.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the drone components are undergoing detailed examination, in order to determine their structure and origin.
“Investigation teams, together with experts from the Police Technical-Explosive Unit and the Defense Ministry, have completed the examination of the entire area where a drone crashed last night. A thorough investigation was required, given that the area is populated. Experts informed that no explosive objects or substances had been detected,” the IGP said.
The police were notified during the night by a citizen who reported finding an object resembling a drone in the Centru district of the capital. The object was damaged after allegedly hitting the roof of the building.
Specialists from the Police Technical and Explosive Unit intervened at the scene and secured the area. Residents in the building’s stairwell were also evacuated until the object was examined and removed.
In the event that suspicious objects are noticed, people are urged not to intervene personally and not to approach them, but to immediately call the 112 Service.
