Italy donates four intervention special vehicles to Moldova
Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - Italy today donated four special intervention vehicles to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU).
Attending the event on the donation’s delivery were the secretary general of the Interior Ministry (MAI), Serghei Diaconu, Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Lorenzo Tomassoni and IGSU head Alexandru Oprea.
The officials stressed the importance of the bilateral cooperation in managing the situation with the refugees, as well as the good cooperation of states in the risk situations’ prevention sector.
„In the last years, Italy has backed MAI’s activities, showing clear and concrete actions. The four special vehicles are meant to ensure the protection of the residents and the environment; thus, decision-makers will ensure the needed protection measures and actions, started in the wake of fires, catastrophes, natural or biological and social calamities,’’ Serghei Diaconu said.
„Italia firmly supports the extraordinary effort and the outstanding commitment of Moldova and of the Moldovan people in the management of the flow of refugees who come from Ukraine. We are with Moldova, so that we cope with the emergency state together. We want firemen from Moldova and from Italy to continue to mutually help and learn from each other, even after the war, which we hope will end as soon as possible,’’ Lorenzo Tomassoni said.
The special intervention vehicles are meant for liquidating fires, as well as for actions of de-blocking and extrication. Two tank trucks have a volume of 4 tons of water; one of them is with enhanced capacity, with a volume of 8 tons and the last one has 2 tons and is meant also for tasks of de-blocking and extrication in the wake of traffic accidents. The cars are to be brought to the IGSU subdivisions and will complete the means of intervention of rescuers and firemen.
