This year, the organizers of the exhibition tried to emphasize the promotion of domestic tourism. The participants were involved in a competition for the title of winner of the special project Parental House. Its basic element is an authentic house renovated and put on the tourist circuit.
In 2022, our country recorded increases in the main statistical indicators regarding domestic tourism, with a 56% increase compared to 2021. This is according to Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan, who claims that the promotion of domestic tourism is a priority for the authorities. At the exhibition I met Mariana Ermurachi who is the manager of the local action group "Lunca Prutului de Jos". She says that in order to attract more tourists, our country needs to modernize its infrastructure.
Tourist attractions in the Lower Prut region have been visited over time by tourists from several countries, including Romania, Poland and Latvia. During the pandemic, the local guesthouses received a large number of tourists from our country, who wanted to discover the unique places here, from home. The Cahul region has a rich tourist potential, which combines the resources of the urban space - the municipality of Cahul with those of the rural environment - Lower Prut region. Here, tourists can discover various guesthouses and traditional houses, authentic customs and traditions, folk crafts and very importantly – people who sanctify the places with their spirit, kindness and warmth.
Scutaru Ludmila came to the exhibition with the most special carpets woven by herself.
A 200-year-old carpet was exhibited at the fair by representatives of the Criuleni district.
Moldova can be proud of many tourist destinations that are worth discovering, but a large part of them remain unknown. Any place in our country that is visited by foreign tourists offers an unforgettable experience thanks to unique views, exceptional wines, artisanal cuisine and cherished traditions.
