Sappers detect 120 cartridges during demining in north Moldova district
Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - The sappers from the Moldovan motorized infantry brigade have detected 120 cartridges of the 7.62 mm caliber, during a mission of demining in the Pohoarna village, northern Soldanesti district.
According to the Defence Ministry, this team of sappers today was called in the Floresti district, where it found a German infantry shell, of the 75 mm.
The commander of the demining group, Eduard Hincu, said the ‘’dangerous objects were discovered by local residents, during agricultural works.’’
The explosive objects dated back from the period of the World War II and were destroyed in security conditions, at the military unit’s training centre.
