Moldovan government backs measures for civil society development

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet today endorsed a draft law approving the civil society development strategy for 2018-2020 and the action plan for its implementation.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the document aims at improving the existing legal, financial and institutional framework, as well as ensuring the necessary conditions for the continuous development of the civil society in Moldova.

The implementation of the strategy will contribute to promoting cooperation between civil society and local and national public authorities, develop a favorable legal environment for functioning of the associative sector, by increasing the degree of transparency. At the same time, the document will set a clearer monitoring mechanism, set adjustment of financial estimates and funding sources and will fill in progress indicators.
