Moldovan electoral body sets up constituencies for local elections

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/- The Central Election Commission (CEC) has set up the second-level electoral constituencies for holding new local elections for mayor of Chisinau and Balti.
At the same time, the commission formed the first-level constituencies for the election of mayors in five localities, due on 20 May.
Also, CEC accredited 31 national observers from the Promo-LEX public association to monitor the polls.
On 20 May, new mayors will be elected in seven localities: Chisinau, Balti, Leuseni and Nemteni (Hancesti district), Volovita village (Soroca district), Jora de Mijloc (Orhei district) and Parlita (Ungheni district).
