Moldovan premier demands maximum mobilization to observe terms of Good Roads for Moldova project

Chisinau, 18 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting, referred to the unfolding of the tenders for the right to carry out works of roads’ restoration, within the Good Roads for Moldova programme, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The PM noted that the first four tenders for four districts, Briceni, Basarabeasca, Donduseni and Drochia, had taken place on 17 April. Today, four tenders are also held, for the districts of Straseni, Edinet, Glodeni and Rascani. Pavel Filip underlined the importance of completing the works on term and demanded that the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry makes efforts to this end.

“The weather is quite precious; now, it already allows us carrying out the works. Therefore, according to our goal, we must end the tenders till 26 April and after the opening of the bids, the contracts should also be signed in a three-week period,” the prime minister said.   

Also, the PM drew attention to the correctness of the spending of public money within this programme. “I do not want for elements to exist which are to doubt the correctness of the tenders, correctness of the implementation of this project, which is a very important one and is in favour of the citizens. I want the perception to remain just the same till the construction of the last km of road,” Pavel Filip stressed.   

The Good Roads for Moldova national programme provides for the restoration of 1,200 km of local roads in 1,200 settlements. The overall sum of investments will be 1.6 billion lei, with the money earmarked from the Road Fund and the state budget.
