Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/- Cooperation relations between Moldova and Belarus are on a permanent rise, which allows the two countries to initiate new forms of strategic partnership in all areas of bilateral cooperation. Foreign ministers of the two states Tudor Ulianovschi and Vladimir Makei made the statement at today’s meeting in Chisinau, the MAEIE’s strategic communication and media relations service has reported.

In this context, Ulianovschi pointed out that setting effective political and socio-economic dialogue between Moldova and Belarus allows the development of partnership relations at both bilateral and regional level and internationally. A good example in this direction is the current visit by Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko to Moldova, where a set of bilateral agreements will be signed in several areas, including health, justice etc.

Ulianovschi described as effective the cooperation between Moldova and Belarus in various international structures, including the Eastern Partnership and the Central European Initiative, which multilateral aspect provides sufficient space for the application of the principle of inclusion and differentiation. “We believe that last year, Belarusian presidency of the Central European Initiative was successful and also contributed to strengthening the organization and identifying new areas of cooperation. In this respect, we welcome the use of the potential for macro-regional cooperation,” he said.

Effective development of Moldovan-Belarusian relations was highly appreciated by Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei. He noted that his country is interested in expanding bilateral relations in all areas, initiating projects with the participation of economic agents from both countries in all social and economic sectors. “We are interested in expanding bilateral relations with Moldova, developing a constructive dialogue that will benefit the nations of both countries,” he said.

The officials have reviewed a wide range of issues on the agenda of the bilateral political dialogue, appreciating the contribution of the foreign ministries to boosting the relations between the two countries in the fields of mutual interest, focusing on trade, social and cultural exchanges, including in terms of official contacts at various levels.

The sides agreed on the need to maintain the high dynamics of Moldovan-Belarusian cooperation. In this context, it was agreed to organize the next round of interministerial consultations at the level of state secretaries in Chisinau by late 2018.
