Several localities affected by hailstorm

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/- Several localities were affected by hailstorm this night.

The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Liliana Puscasu, said that heavy rains with hail and strong wind were recorded in Mihăileni, Boroșenii Noi, Văsileuți and Zăicani, Râșcani district.

“Several trees were shot down and the rescuers intervened to unlock the roads. In Borosenii Noi, the wind has snatched the slate sheets from some roofs, and in Zaicani hail affected a warehouse,” Puscasu said.

At the same time, in some areas, in Rascani and Drochia districts there were recorded disconnection of electricity, and during the night the defects were removed.

Currently, the commissions on district emergencies are operating in the territory to estimate the material damage.
