Just as in the years before, Europe Day in Balti is prepared by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR North), General Consulate of Romania in Balti, Alecu Russo State University from Balti and the Balti-based Pro-Europa Interactive European Centre.  In 2018, the public association Pro Cooperare Regionala (Pro- Regional Cooperation) participates in event too.

‘’In Balti, just as in other settlements of the country, the marking of Europe Day has become a nice tradition, which we hope will be preserved by the next generations as well,’’ ADR-North director Vitali Povonschi said.

The event started on the Vasile Alecsandri Square from the city, on the Classics’ Alley. The schedule of the action included the inauguration of a fair of popular traditions and customs, an exhibition of popular craftsmen from the Balti municipality. The agenda of the celebration of Europe Day in Balti also contains a literary and artistic programme titled, Through Art – to Europe, and a representation titled, School – the Second Home.

A contest of drawings on pavement about Europe was also organized in Balti today. The event will end with the distribution by volunteers of informative materials about the significance of Europe Day.

In the North Development Region, Europe Day was officially marked for the first time in the Balti municipality on 14 May 2011.
