Moldovan prime minister visits European Town 2018

Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/ – The traditional European Town has been inaugurated in Public Garden Stefan cel Mare si Sfant in Chisinau today. The representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau, Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, Head of EU Delegation in Chisinau, Peter Michalko, participated in opening of event organised by the EU Delegation to Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
For two days, visitors of European Town have got chance to learn more about culture, traditions and cuisines of European states. The government institutions have also installed tents here. Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, visited tents of ministries, agencies and state institutions, where it was presented info on projects carried out in Moldova with EU support, as well as tents of embassies of EU member states, where there were organised activities for popularisation of cultures and cuisines of the countries Europe.
The visitors to the European Town are also able to take part in a series of actions, including language lessons, presentations on EU assistance to Moldova and public debates with participation of high level EU advisers in Moldova.
On 13 May 2018, the town will host the traditional European film and culture festival. At the same time, classical and jazz music performances will be organized, supported by the National Philharmonic and bands from the country and abroad. In the coming days, the European caravan will go to districts of Moldova – Drochia, Ungheni, Hancesti, Comrat, Balti, Cahul and Soroca.
