Moldovan government approves rules for organisation, development of postdoctoral programmes

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - The government approved the regulation on the organization and holding of post-doctoral programmes today. 

The document sets the normative framework on the basis of the up-dated legislative foundations in the field of fundamental and applicative advanced  scientific researches. The normative framework is adapted to the new requirements in the field of research nationally and internationally and provides for the unitary character of the training of highly skilled scientific staff in Moldova.  

Under the regulation, the programmes are financed through contest of projects, organized by private and public institutions, from external sources, grants, scholarships, as well as from special funds of higher education institutions and organizations from the science and innovation sector, under the law.

The post-doctoral programme contains the scholarship of the person training for the post-doctoral degree, spending for research, spending for trips, as well as the spending for management, which will account for ten per cent of the total sum of the grant in all. The post-doctoral programmes are finished with the public maintaining of the thesis of PhD or on the basis of the synthesis of the scientific works published.  

The title of PhD is confirmed and withdrawn by the National Agency for Ensuring Quality in Education and Research. The period of the programme is of three years at the most; this period will be included in the length of service.  

The post-doctoral programmes are programmes of fundamental and applicative advanced scientific research, carried out within organizations in the field of research and innovation, empowered under the law.
