Day of 1 June declared day-off in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - The day of 1 June has been declared day-off in Moldova, according to a decision by the cabinet approved today.

Under the document, the day of 1 June is to be recovered on 23 June.

Through this decision, the authorities are set to give parents possibility to mark the holiday together with their children. At the same time, the document’s authors said that the adoption of the draft ‘’will represent one more step towards the consolidation of the family values in Moldova.’’

The International Day for Protection of Children is annually marked in Moldova on 1 June. The event is celebrated in line with the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1959.
