Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ - The decree on the promulgation of the law on the approval of the strategy of civil society’s development for 2018-2020 and of the action plan for its implementation will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova (Monitorul Oficial) on 18 May.

The document is aimed at implementing three general goals, which provide for the strengthening of the framework of civil society’s participation in the working out and monitoring of the implementation of public policies, promotion and consolidation of the financial sustainability of the civil society and developing the active civic spirit and volunteering.

The elaboration of the Strategy of Moldovan Civil Society’s Development started in early 2017, within an inter-sectoral working group, divided into three working sub-groups, according to the Strategy’s general objectives. The working group was set up under an instruction by the parliament speaker and is made up of representatives of the civil society, government and parliament, with the support of the development partners. During the elaboration process, 17 meetings took place in sub-groups and public consultations were organized, within which eight state institutions and five public organizations submitted proposals and objections to the project.

Presently, 7,950 national public associations are registered with Moldova’s Justice Ministry.
