Moldovan SP votes for European city

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, expressed his vote in new local elections in Chisinau municipality today. He said he voted for "a European city".

The official urged citizens to vote. "The choice is not at home, but at ballot boxes. Unfortunately, within recent years, Chisinau municipality has degraded a lot. However, we want former fame of the capital to be regained. Chisinau can become a European, green city with a developed infrastructure," said Candu.

"I think that person which I voted has capacity to develop and modernise capital of the country, so that people of Chisinau will not be ashamed of the city they live. There is still a lot to be done and I hope new Mayor will make it all," said Andrian Candu.

There participate eleven candidates in electoral race for leadership of Chisinau municipality.

Until 10:30, there were present over 40 thousand of Chisinau citizens at ballot boxes.
