Promo – LEX observers find violations into electoral process of Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 03 June /MOLDPRES/ – The observation mission Promo-LEX has found more violations within conduct of the electoral process during runoff ballot of new local elections held in Chisinau municipality today. The statement has made director of the organisation and head of Promo-LEX observation mission, Pavel Postica, at ​​a press conference.

According to the cited source, access of all Promo-LEX observers was provided in polling stations.

"The Promo – LEX mission has consisted of presence of advertising materials, posters, electoral panels in perimeter of two polling stations. At Durlesti, within 100 metres from polling station, it was displayed a billboard, showing electoral posters with both candidates. The same violation was also detected at a section in Codru. Also, ballot boxes have not been sealed according to legal procedures at four electoral stations in sector Centru of Chisinau," said Postica.

Among violations detected by Promo – LEX observers, there are unjustified presence in two sections of unauthorized persons and deficiencies in electoral lists.

The Promo – LEX observation mission of new local elections on 03 June 2018 monitors runoff ballot in Chisinau municipality constituency through 5 long – term observers. On election day, Promo – LEX delegated a short-term observer to each polling station in constituency. The observers involved in monitoring process signed Promo-LEX Independent National Observatory's Code of Conduct, committing themselves to act operative, in good faith and non – partisan mode. The activity of all observers is coordinated by the central team of association.
