Moldovan president votes for "professional mayor"

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon today voted in Chisinau. He said he had voted for “a professional mayor”.

The official came to the polls with his wife and noted that “today’s vote is extremely important.”

“I voted for a professional and I firmly believe that today Chisinau residents will make the right choice in favor of professionalism and not of political show. With God help we start a new phase for the capital,” he said.

Two candidates –Ion Ceban, candidate of the Party of Socialists of Moldova, and Andrei Nastase, candidate of the Dignity and Truth Party, participate in the elections. The winner in the runoff will be the candidate who will get the highest number of votes.

Igor Dodon is 43, married and has three children. He holds the position of president of Moldova since 13 November 2016. Previously he held several positions, including first deputy premier, minister of economy and trade.
