Detainees with residence in Chisinau participate in 3 June local polls

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/ - Those over 770 detainees from the penitentiaries of the Chisinau municipality, who have residence in the capital’s settlements, have exercised their right to vote today.  

Data by the National Administration of Penitentiaries shows that 774 detainees were recorded in the runoff for the election of the Chisinau city general mayor. As many as 586 of them (75 per cent) voted and 188 (25 per cent) refused to vote in front of the commissions; one person could not vote on health grounds and is now at the reanimation section.

The voting process was organized in specially arranged rooms with voting booths. At the same time, the electoral commissions from the polling stations of the penitentiaries and electoral observers had access to the territory of institutions early in the morning, with mobile ballot boxes.

The voting procedure took place without incidents at penitentiaries.
