Moldova to be able to export goods to European states through Giurgiulesti Port

Chisinau, 11 June /MOLDPRES/ – Moldova has joined the International Railroad Corridor of Railroad Cooperation Organisation (OSDJ), allowing through International Free Port Giurgiulesti to transport goods on territory of Moldova to European States, as well as ports to Reni, Odessa, Poti and others.

It was signed a Protocol to this effect by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Serghei Bucataru, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, at the Sixteenth Session of the Council of Ministers of the Member States of the Organisation.

There were adopted more important documents at the Session, including introduction of amendments to Agreement on organisational and operational Arrangements of combined transport to the Asia-Europe department and progress of the International Conference on adoption of draft Convention on International Direct Railroad Traffic.

The XLVI Session was attended by Ministers and State Secretaries of Ministries responsible for railroad transport of OSJD member countries, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Estonia.

Moldova joined Railroads Collaboration Organisation by a Parliament Decision in 1998.
