Heavy rains in northern country affected dozens of orchards

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/- Heavy rains with hail recorded in the north of Moldova in recent days have affected several hectares of orchards and tore sheets of slate on a residential block of Donduşeni.

Liliana Puscasu, the press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the bad weather had affected several localities, including Hlinaia and Gordineştii villages, Edinet district. There were several hectares of orchards destroyed.

"Over 90 slates were ripped from the roof of an apartment building of Donduşeni. Committees for emergencies are to estimate the damage caused by heavy rainfall," Puscasu said.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, over the next 24 hours, the northern region of the country will remain unstable.
