Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today voted, in the first reading, amendments and completions to Moldova’s Labour Code, which regards the procedure of reconciling of sides of the collective labour dispute.
Under the document, the reconciling commission will have at its disposal ten working days, starting from the date of its creation, to reconcile the sides of the collective labour dispute. This period can be extended a single time, through a written agreement of the commission members.
If the commission members reach an agreement as to the claims filed, the commission will adopt a compulsory decision for the conflict’s sides, which it will submit to them in 24 hours.
According to the authors, the new amendments will contribute to the improvement of the procedure of reconciling of collective labour disputes, removing situations of abuse in the context of procrastinating the issuance of a decision on the settlement of the collective labour dispute, making more responsible the reconciling commission members in taking a decision on term, as well as to ensuring the observance of the labour rights and interests of wage earners and employers.
In the present version, the Labour Code does not set a deadline for the consideration of labour collective dispute within the reconciling commission.
The draft is to be passed in the final reading.
