Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/- The interest paid by the beneficiaries of the "First Home" program will decrease. The data were presented by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Ion Chicu, in an interview exclusively given for MOLDPRES.

Chicu noted that the interest rates will drop by about 1.5 per cent. The exact interest rates will be made public by each of the five banks involved in the project.

The official also provided details of the funds the beneficiaries will receive monthly from the state. "If you access a credit of 540 thousand lei, this means that every month you will receive 900 lei in the account at a monthly rate in the first period that would be 3,300-3,200 lei. This rate will be even lower, so interest rates will go down. 900 lei, reported about 3,000 lei that means even 30 - 40% of the monthly rate paid by the beneficiary,” he said.

“The state budget now incurs expenses related to housing of certain categories of employees in the public sector. Our calculations show that if you pay the rent of 4,000 lei per month and home is not yours, it is much better to access the "First Home" program, you will pay 3,000 lei per month, you get compensation offered by state and the house is yours,” he said.

Public workers can claim compensation under the “First Home 2” programme from 22 June. Thus, the state will compensate them up to 50% of the mortgage loan taken for the purchase of the dwelling.
