Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) has demands for export of fruits and vegetables to Russia from 248 agricultural enterprises. Yet, since 2015 so far, only 54 of them have got authorizations from the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor). ANSA director general Gheorghe Gaberi made statements to this effect at a today’s meeting with a group of specialists from the Russian federal service.

Enterprises from the left bank of Dniester or of the Gagauz autonomy have priority to export vegetal products to the Russian market, Gheorghe Gaberi also said.

Gaberi noted that a solution to increase exports to Russia’s market would be giving up permissive lists, with the right of trade given to all enterprises which observe the requirements of Rosselkhoznadzor.

The issue of extending the bilateral cooperation, especially in increasing the volume of export of animal and vegetal products to Russia was discussed by ANSA representatives and specialists of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance.

According to the National Statistics Bureau (BNS), Moldova’s exports to the Russian market dropped by eight per cent in the first seven months of 2018 against the same period of the year before, down to 127.2 million dollars. Russia’s share in Moldova’s exports decreased from 11.34 per cent in January-July 2017 to 8.29 per cent in the first seven months of this year.

Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance banned more consignments of plums and apples in 2017. In all cases of prohibition, Rosselkhoznadzor said that the oriental fruit moth Grapholitha molesta Busck had been discovered.
