Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/- Electronic single window for issuance of permits was presented yesterday in Balti to business people from the north of the country. Attending the event were representatives of central and local authorities and external donors, due to whom this project has been carried out.

The launch of single window is part of a series of reforms to improve the business environment, carried out by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. "A priority for us is to improve the business environment. In this respect, we have carried out the procedural reform -  optimized the number of institutions with control functions from 58 to 13, digitized control processes, decriminalized the criminal legislation with reference to the business environment and we considerably reduced the number of permits," MEI secretary of state Vitalie Iurcu said.

Electronic single window is meant to facilitate issuing permits for business people. The information system allows for requesting, paying and obtaining documents online. Each permissive act has a passport describing the steps the applicant must take, state fee, terms of issue etc. This will allow the submission of any application online on servicii.gov.md portal, including uploading the necessary confirmation documents.

"We are pleased to support the efforts of the Moldovan government to improve the business environment in the various activities we carry out in partnership," Program Director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Douglas Muir said.

This action is funded by the World Bank through the Competitiveness Enhancement Project II and was launched in this July. The information campaign is funded by USAID through Structural Reform Program in Moldova.
