Autumn fairs to be organized in three sectors in Chisinau

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/- Three autumn fairs will be organized, starting on Saturday, 13 October, in three sectors of Chisinau municipality. Farmers will not pay for market place or other costs.

Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Nicolae Ciubuc said today that the fairs will be located in the Centre, Buiucani and Rascani districts.

Fairs will work until the end of October and, depending on the time or availability of farmers, in November.

According to Ciubuc, the fairs are meant to facilitate farmers' access to the market, giving them the opportunity to sell their production at appropriate prices for consumers and producers, eliminating intermediaries. “This year we have good harvest and those who grow it must have place to sell it, not being in the situation to sell it at ridiculous prices to those who have no tangency with agriculture," he said.

Ciubuc said that if this experience will be successful in the capital, then it could be implemented in other localities of the country.
