Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Constitutional Court (CCM) will carry out the constitutionality control also over the laws adopted ahead of the entrance into force of Moldova’s Constitution. The parliament adopted a draft law to this effect in the first reading today.
At present, the Constitutional Court can verify only the normative acts passed after the entrance into force of the Constitution, on 27 August 1994. At the same time, after the adoption of the Constitution, no transition procedures were envisaged, under which the unconstitutionality of the laws adopted till 1994 is found out and these laws are taken out of the normative order in force. Thus, the situation of the legislation anterior to the Constitution’s adoption was left unsettled.
