Moldovan government approves Moldova 2030 National Development Strategy

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - The main document of the country’s strategic planning, Moldova 2030 National Development Strategy, was approved by the cabinet today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The strategy establishes the long-term sectoral priorities and is aimed at enhancing the quality of citizens’ living. The strategy’s goal is the focusing of public policies from Moldova on problems, interests and aspirations of the people. Also, the document will contribute to the strategic distribution of budgetary and institutional resources, depending on the goals set by those four basic pillars:   

1.     Sustainable and inclusive economy;

2.     Robust human and social capital;

3.     Honest and efficient institutions;

4.     Sound environment;

To develop the aforementioned sectors till 2030, ten sustainable development goals (SDG) have been established at the national level, among which the guaranteeing of quality education, ensuring an efficient governance, enhancement of people’s access to infrastructure and improving the labour conditions. The present situation, basic factors of people’s vulnerability was analyzed for each of the ten goals, with the strategic vision formulated and the priority actions set. The identification of the scenarios of Moldova’s long-term development was possible with the support of the United Nations and World Bank.   

The Moldova 2030 National Development Strategy was elaborated through a comprehensive participatory exercise and was the result of the activity of ten inter-ministerial working groups. Representatives of local public administration, civil society, business and academic environments were included in these groups.
