Several air flights delayed, canceled due to bad weather

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/- Several air flights were delayed and canceled today, due to bad weather conditions.

According to the airport's official website, many flights took off and landed this morning late. At the same time, flights to and from Istanbul were canceled.

The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure also reports that, for the time being, national routes are practicable under winter conditions. On some routes it is icy, including - Chişinău-Ungheni-Sculeni, Chişinău-Leuşeni, Chişinău-Bender, Anenii Noi-Căuşeni-Ştefan Vodă-Palanca, Chişinău-Hînceşti-Cimişlia-Comrat-Vulcăneşti – Giurgiuleşti, Hînceşti-Leova-Cahul and Rezina-Orhei.

According to the National Patrol Inspectorate data, the roads in the country are difficult to run, and no blocked roads. In these conditions, drivers are urged to move slowly both in and out of the towns, keep a greater distance between cars and avoid parking vehicles near trees. Also, drivers of heavy tonnage are urged to be equipped properly.

The State Hydrometeorological Service today announced the Yellow Code for complicated weather conditions. Meteorologists forecast heavy precipitation, mainly as snow and sleet, icy roads throughout the country.
