Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici today made an unforeseen visit to the State Administration of Roads. Gaburici demanded that all monitoring cameras be functional and their pictures be made available to citizens. The places of cameras, which provide visualizing roads’ state, as well as the pictures updated every half an hour can be found on the web site www.asd.md.

„This is a sure way, with the help of which any of us can monitor the national roads and the movement on them. It is important that all cameras be rehabilitated and be set working,” Chiril Gaburici said, urging pedestrians and drivers to be cautious in traffic.

According to the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, the movement on national roads is provided in winter conditions. The road segments posing increased danger are monitored jointly with representatives of the National Patrol Inspectorate of the Interior Ministry’s General Police Inspectorate, in order to intervene if necessary.

To carry out works of removing snow and distributing anti-skid material, 518 vehicles and road technology units will be able to get involved on public roads. More than 170 equipment units of the Drumuri (Roads) stock company are endowed with Global Positioning Systems (GPS); thus, the latter will allow monitoring the use of road technology when carrying out the works. Also, to combat the glazed ice, about 70,000 tons of anti-skid material and 15,000 tons of technical salt are prepared on public roads, according to the length of the national roads managed.

At present, the movement is carried out with difficulty on the national roads.
