First joint tourism route between Moldova, Romania to be carried out by late 2018

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/- The first joint tourism route between the Republic of Moldova and Romania will be completed by late 2018. Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici made the statement at a meeting with Romanian Tourism Minister Bogdan Gheorghe Trif in Bucharest.

“The route of ruler Stefan cel Mare in Romania and Moldova” will cross 19 localities and five viticultural areas, thus offering tourists a lesson of history and spirituality through sightseeing.

“I firmly believe that tourist route of Stefan cel Mare in Romania and Moldova is another important step to developing a competitive and sustainable tourism between our countries, will be a generator of economic growth and tourism promotion on both banks of the Prut river. I am confident that tourists will discover many beautiful and picturesque places in our country and traditions that Moldova boasts," he said.

The joint tourism routes will be promoted at the annual consultative forum of cultural routes of the Council of Europe, due to be held by the Romanian Tourism Ministry in Sibiu in October 2019.

The meeting between the two officials took place in the context of the joint meeting of the governments of Moldova and Romania, held in Bucharest yesterday.
